Net terms credit worksheet
Open your Shopify order export to see what each wholesale stockist owes, how late they pay, and a credit limit with the rule that set it. It runs in this page alone: the file never leaves your computer, and the page's code is blocked from sending or fetching anything over the network.
In Shopify admin: Orders, then Export. Choose orders covering at least the last year and a CSV format; Shopify emails exports of more than 50 orders. The worksheet reads the orders that carry payment terms, such as Net 30.

Stockists
Worst first. Choose a stockist to see why, how its limit was set, and its open orders. Days beyond terms is the order-weighted average for paid orders in the last twelve months; negative means early.

Your credit policy
Filled from your settings. Edit it here, then copy it into a document, onto your wholesale page, or into your terms.
Telling a stockist no
Net terms are trade credit under Regulation B. Tell the stockist the decision in reasonable time, and give written reasons, with the notice in the policy, if they ask in writing within 60 days.
How it decides
| Figure | Rule |
|---|---|
| Due date | Shopify's own due date when the export has one; otherwise the order date plus the terms' days ("Due on fulfillment" counts from fulfillment). A fixed-date order with no date in the export counts as not yet due. |
| Suggested limit | Monthly purchases x (terms days + grace days) / 30 x the cushion, scaled by payment: in full if within the grace days on average, x 0.75 if up to 10 days late, x 0.5 if 11-30, none if later. New accounts are held to the first-order cap. |
| Prepay only | More than 30 days late on average, or anything over 90 days past due. |
| Hold new orders | Anything more than 30 days past due, or over the limit while late or past due. |
| Watch | Anything 1-30 days past due, late on average, or over the limit while paying on time (review the limit). |
There is no default probability here on purpose: a dozen stockists give no statistics to fit one. Every limit is a suggestion with its arithmetic shown, for you to judge.
